After the storm, my story continues to bring life because God is in the midst of it. I am excited to share that 17 years ago, I received care at Northwell's high-risk OBGYN practice. Today, that same practice has transformed into a the FIRST Cancer, Pregnancy, and Reproductive Center, dedicated to treating women diagnosed with cancer while pregnant. Glory to God! My story is a testament that God is in the business of saving babies and preserving lives, providing healing for women facing the challenge of pregnancy alongside cancer.

How My Story Began...
Through the Storm: Pregnancy and Breast Cancer
At the age of 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which plunged me into a dark place. As a busy Christian mother with two small children, I felt overwhelmed. Just two months after my diagnosis, I discovered that I was expecting my third child. Yes, I was both pregnant and battling breast cancer. In my confusion and desperation for clarity regarding God's purpose, I turned to Him for direction.
During this challenging time, I found refuge in God’s presence, and He began to mold and shape me for His glory. God held my hand throughout the storm, providing me with the wisdom, strength, courage, and endurance to face each day bravely. Over days, weeks, months, and even years, He gradually revealed His profound plan for my life. Yes, years!
"There was a heaviness and a stillness that was beginning to fill the waiting room but God’s powerful presence was more than enough. As I looked around, I was sitting there by myself. No other patient was there. God began to embrace me with His presence. I felt protected and safe for the time being. That was good enough for me. The power of God’s presence proliferated my inner being, and I was at peace with God. I was restless in my flesh about the unknown. I began to cling to the strength of God. I began to cling to the strength of the authority in His word. The Bible declares that God will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:6)."
